PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR ANESTHESIA IN OPHTHALMOLOGY Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pharmaceutical composition for anesthesia used in ophthalmology containing topical anesthetic and, additionally, viscoelastic and heparin at the following ratio of components, wt.-%: local anesthetic, 0.01-4.0; heparin, 5-500 U/ml; and viscoelastic, the balance. Composition can contain additionally carnosine taken at concentration 0.01-2.0%. Viscoelastic has 0.1-3.0% of sodium hyaluronate and/or 0.1-6.0% of hondroitin-sulfate and/or 0.1-6.0% of cellulose water-soluble derivatives in isotonic saline solution at pH 7.0-7.5. Alternatively, the pharmaceutical composition has a solution at pH 7.2-7.4 as viscoelastic at the folowing ratio of components, wt.-%: alkyl-, and/or carboxyalkyl-, and/or hydroxyalkyl-derivatives of cellulose, 0.1-6.0; sodium chloride, 0.85-0.95; sodium dihydrogen phosphate, 0.0025-0.0040; sodium monohydrogen phosphate, 0.0115-0.0135; glycoseaminoglycans, 0.0051-0.080; purified water, the balance. Invention can be used in cavity eye surgery for intrachamber anesthesia and for anesthesia in nonpenetrating surgery and diagnostic procedures on anterior segment of eye.
