FIELD: separation of liquids from gas-and-liquid and steam-and-water mixtures employed in chemical, petrochemical and gas industries. SUBSTANCE: separator has vertical cylindrical body, tangential device to feed flow to be cleaned, central gas discharging tube, branch pipe to remove liquid, shut-off plate with axial hole located in lower part of body and cut-off bar mounted above axial hole of shut-off plate with clearance relative to it. Diameter of axial hole of shut-off plate d₁=(0.15-0.2)D and diameter of cut-off bar d₂= (0.25-0.3)D, where D is diameter of body.
