FIELD: chemical technology, catalysts. SUBSTANCE: invention describes method of producing nickel catalyst for hydrogenation of aromatic hydrocarbons that involves nickel applying on powder-like aluminium oxide carrier followed by formation of granulated catalyst. α-Al2O3 is used as an aluminium oxide carrier. Application of metallic nickel is carried out by chemical reduction from solution containing nickel salt, reducing agent and chelating agent followed by washing out in water and drying at 120-150 C. Formation of catalyst granules as porous plates is carried out by plasma spraying on inert backings. Method excludes the stage of preliminary activation of catalyst. EFFECT: increased activity of nickel hydrogenation catalyst, decreased pressure in system, increased mechanical strength of catalyst. 1 tbl
