FIELD: aids for reading information by those visually handicapped. SUBSTANCE: device has die with holes accommodating spherical-head punches and punches control element incorporating separate electromagnetic drives for each punch. Novelty is that device has plate carrying microcases and nonmagnetic punches placed in coaxially arranged holes of die, plate, and microcases. Each punch drive has rod made of material whose residual magnetization is sufficient to hold the rod in one of two positions, plunger-type electromagnet coil wound on cylindrical surface of microcase, and U- shaped permanent magnet mounted in bottom part of microcase; permanent magnet has horizontal component and vertical components; the latter may differ in height by at least 0.55 mm and/or horizontal component may have step of same height.
