FIELD: typhloengineering. SUBSTANCE: device has matrix with holes, board with holes, and attached micropackages whose holes are aligned with those of matrix and board and hold punches. The latter are made of nonmagnetic material and have spherical heads and annular lugs. Device also has punch control element incorporating electromagnetic operating mechanism for each punch that has rod made of residual-magnetization material, plunger electromagnet windings wound on cylindrical surface of micropackage, and U-shaped magnetic core mounted in bottom part of each micropackage. This core has horizontal component and different-height vertical components. Device is also provided with relief control unit and springs used for spring-loading of each punch between its annular lug and inner side of matrix; electromagnetic operating mechanism of each punch has two-section solenoid whose winding is wound on cylindrical surface of microspool whose bore receives horizontal components of U-shaped magnetic core. Solenoid windings are electrically connected to relief control unit and horizontal components of U-shaped magnetic core have open circuit at boundary of solenoid sections. Device designed to enable image display in a form convenient for tactile reading by persons suffering deprived vision and incorporating provision for self- descriptiveness of synthesized relief-dot image by improving resolving power through depth or height of relief may be used both in line and page displays and provides for not only typing in Braille alphabet but also for synthesizing relief-graphics images (such as geographical maps) of high self-descriptiveness at high validity of relief-graphics information read- out.
