FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: method of treatment of fuel for vehicles comes to acting onto fuel by polarized thermoelectret consisting of mixture of carnauba wax, paraffin, rosin and sulfur in amount of 23- 27% of each component, by mass which is placed in radius of up to 1.0 m from fuel. Thermoelectret is used for 24 months. Fuel treatment device for vehicles has housing and polarized plates of electret. Self-contained field starting device in form of generator is installed in plate of thermoelectret, and also supply source and switch, placed in thermoelectret mass. Fuel treatment device is arranged at a distance of up to 1.0 m fuel. EFFECT: improved quality of fuel, reduced fuel consumption, enhanced ecological characteristics of fuel by decreasing exhaust of harmful gases such as CO, CH and C. 5 cl, 2 dwg
