FIELD: fault protection equipment for power grid control. SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring voltage in connection of circuits of equivalent generators and currents in circuits, converting measured data to orthogonal constituents, detection of electromotive force complex values of equivalent generators, comparison of electromotive force phase difference to threshold and production of signal for splitting power grid, when threshold is exceeded. In addition method involves generation of two pairs of circuits with equivalent generators, which electromotive force phase difference is less than threshold, detection of stability coefficients for each pair, comparison of stability coefficients of two pairs of circuits with equivalent generators and keeping connection between generators of pair of circuits with highest stability coefficient, thus sending signal for splitting circuit with third equivalent generator from power grid. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities for detection and recovery of asynchronous mode by means of predicting faults for possible power grid splits and making its selective splitting into dynamically stable parts. 2 dwg
