FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used for the automatic control of a direct current link based on two network driven STATCOM type voltage converters, controlled by a pulse-duration modulation technique (HVDC). The present invention comprises replacing separate control of the operating mode of voltage converters which a link to controlled power transmission with an interacting control system, wherein each controller simultaneously controls both converters, thereby ensuring stable operation of the HVDC in case of emergency weakening of electrical connections thereof with power supply systems and incorrect setting of the automatic power controller, as well as avoiding the need for high-speed reduction of the said setting.
EFFECT: high stability of operation of the HVDC in power transmission, which connects power supply systems operating with different alternating current frequencies in case of emergency weakening of electrical connections thereof with the power supply systems by changing the structure of the system for the automatic control of the operating mode of the HVDC.
