FIELD: foundry, namely centrifugal casting of cast iron rolls. SUBSTANCE: casting mold includes chill mold with heat insulation coat for forming roll barrel. Roll necking portions are formed in foundry cope and drag. Transition zone between necking portion and roll barrel is formed in heat insulation inserts. Transition zone from lower necking portion until barrel is inclined by 50-60 degrees relative to horizontal plane. It provides smooth step-by-step filling of mold by metal and prevents breakage of heat insulation coat of working surface of chill mold. EFFECT: elimination of ingots rejected due to hot cracking and weld-on spots. 1 dwg
