FIELD: foundry, namely centrifugal casting of cast iron rolls. SUBSTANCE: apparatus is designed for applying heat insulation coatings onto casting molds being bodies of revolution. Apparatus includes disc with drive shaft, vessel for heat insulation coating mounted on rod, valve arranged in lower portion of vessel. Vessel and valve are in the form of mutually joined cylinders; each cylinder has coaxial outer layer of rigid material and inner layer of elastic material. Through outer layers of cylinder compressed air is fed to gap between layers. There are sealed charging openings in upper portion of vessel. Apparatus includes discharging cone with conicity degree (1: 0.45) -(1:0.55) and device for controlling gap between cone and disc. Relation of diameters of discharging cone and disc d1/d2=0.08-0.12; gap Δ between cone and disc is equal to (0.003-0.01)d2. Use of cone provides uniform feed of coating onto disc and regular thickness of coating on surface of casting mold. EFFECT: enhanced quality of castings. 2 dwg
