FIELD: steel casting ladles, possibly for continuous steel casting. SUBSTANCE: ladle includes metallic housing, reinforcing and working layers of lining, seat bricks with casting nozzles in bottom. On bottom surface of working cavity there is stepped protrusion of similar semioval steps. Lengthwise axis of steps is arranged along diametrical axis of bottom with symmetry relative to trunnions of ladle. Steps whose number is equal to 2-5 adjoin to lateral wall of ladle. Height and width of each step consists (0,01-0,05)D, where D - diameter of bottom of working cavity of ladle. Length of upper step is equal to (0.2-0.6)D. Width of upper step in place of adjoining to lateral wall of ladle consists (0.1-0.6)D. Height and width of each step may be the same or they may be different. Stepped protrusion of refractory bricks in place of feeding metal jet to ladle prevents intensive wear of working cavity bottom. EFFECT: enhanced strength of ladle. 4 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl, 5 ex
