FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing a periclase-carbon fire-resistant product for lining the working layer of the walls and the slag zone of a steel ladle includes dosing, mixing a periclase powder, a graphite-containing component, resin, and moulding a periclase-carbon fire-resistant product in a mould. The products are made in the form of a wedge brick by pressing onto a die at a ratio of the pressing height h to the hydraulic pressing radius Rg less than 1.20 or in the range from 1.22 to 1.25, and installed on the edge relative to the bottom of the steel ladle. The stability of the seam-forming dimensions of the periclase-carbon fire-resistant products in the working layer of the lining is provided by the geometric dimensions of the cavity of the mould.
EFFECT: increase in the resistance of the fire-resistant lining, reduction in downtime of the ladles during repair are provided.
