FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: device relates to construction and operation of motor road and airfield pavements and particularly to assessment of strength and smoothness of pavements. Device is installed on vibration-isolated carriage and has punch for dynamic loading in the form of two paired wheels and dropping weight with hoisting mechanism. Also provided is measuring facility in the form of number of measuring cross-members. Each measuring cross-member takes the form of double-arm lever with support located on horizontal bar which is positioned in perpendicular to longitudinal axis of carriage. Measuring cross-member is provided respectively with measuring roller and sensor of vertical displacements of road pavement. Each measuring cross-member additionally has sensors of angular displacements. They are located uniformly over length of horizontal bar at one side of central cross-member. Dynamic loading of pavement is effected by means of dropping weight and paired wheels of punch. With use of rollers and sensors of vertical displacements, carried out is control for coordinates (value) of vertical displacements of pavement over entire width of traffic lane. This helps evaluate entire curvature of pavement depression sag. Evaluation of pavement smoothness when carriage is moving is performed according to signals from angular displacement sensors which are installed on each cross-member. Evaluation of pavement surface smoothness is also made across entire width of road pavement. Application of aforesaid embodiment of device allows for increasing informative value of testing and consequently reliability of results in evaluation of strength and smoothness of road pavements.
