FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring formed keratotomy cicatrices width on the eye cornea, the thickness of the remaining not notched part of the corneal stroma, central optic cornea zone diameter, the number of cicatrices and the residual myopia degree. The formed keratotomy cicatrices width on the eye cornea being less than 85 mcm, thickness of the remaining part of the corneal stroma of keratotomy cicatrices being greater than 70 mcm, central optic cornea zone diameter being greater than 4.0 mm, cicatrices number being less than 10, and the residual myopia degree being equal to or greater than 2.75 D, photorefractive keratectomy is considered to be indicated. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy in differentially determining indications to perform the appropriate operation.
