FIELD: railway transport; box-cars for carrying loose materials. SUBSTANCE: freight car body has frame, side walls 2 and end face walls 3 and roof with charging hatches. Roof is formed by two longitudinal rows of hinge-mounted hatch covers 8. Double-arm covers are installed for turning under action of cargo weight to form funnels by arm planes and provided automatic return into initial position. Cover locking mechanisms are provided with control devices. Labyrinth sealing of cover edges is used. Hatch cover locking mechanism is made in form of ratchet wheel sector secured on hatch cover coaxially relative to axis of turning and engaging with one arm of double-arm pawl installed for rocking. Other arm of pawl is arranged in mouth of fork mechanically coupled with control device. EFFECT: reduced labour input, enhanced safety in servicing. 5 cl, 11 dwg
