FIELD: reinforcing material for tires. SUBSTANCE: wire thread is made in the form of spiral free from residual torsion elastic stresses. Method involves twisting unwound straight wire threads up to plastic deformation zone with following untwisting, with at least two wire threads being brought into contact and united prior to untwisting. At least two wire threads are brought into contact by means of perforated disk, twisted one relative to the other by means of false twisting mechanism, subjected to plastic deformation, with further untwisting in auxiliary false twisting mechanism. EFFECT: increased efficiency by improved fatigue strength of wire thread and reliable fastening in rubber, rubber-like or plastic products. 13 cl, 2 dwg
