FIELD: automotive industry; rotary engines. SUBSTANCE: rotary internal combustion engine has two working sheets 24, unit 11 placed in between and including intake manifold 21 and exhaust manifold 22 with electric valve mechanism 12 and 17, flexible metal band 19 enclosed in chain 18 and provided with compression band-rings 23 and oil control band-rings 20. Chain is arranged around manifold unit 11 tightly to sheets 24. Engine has also fuel pipes 10 with electric nozzles 1, spark plugs 16, control processor 4 and wedge-type brakes 8 transmitting torque developed by translational movement of chain to power shafts 7 through sprockets 9. Manifold unit 11 is extensible and is provided with worm-and-screw mechanism 6 for moving its halves 11 and 11a apart. EFFECT: simplified design of engine, reduced overall dimensions, increased speed and enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 4 dwg
