FIELD: geophysics, determination of coordinates of epicenter of anticipated earthquakes, of rock bursts and monitoring of electromagnetic situation in zone of the Earth's crust seismically risky. SUBSTANCE: two successive measurements of intensity of electromagnetic field as minimum are taken in observation point. Difference signal of two successive measurements is found. Difference signal is integrated, difference signal is divided by integrated difference signal. Obtained value is compared with specified threshold value. Before measurement of intensity of electromagnetic radiation it is frequency- converted in measurement channel and if it exceeds specified threshold value frequency-converted electromagnetic radiation is multiplied with electromagnetic radiation received in four direction finding channels. Harmonic signals are extracted by heterodyne frequency, phase shifts between them and heterodyne voltage are measured and used to find directions to epicenter of anticipated earthquake accurately and unambiguously by phase method in two mutually perpendicular planes. In this case receiving antennas of measurement and direction finding channels are placed in the form of asymmetric geometrical cross in which intersection receiving antenna of measurement channel is positioned.
