ZIPPER FASTENER Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: light industry. SUBSTANCE: spiral zipper fastener has pair of carrier tapes with engagement members, slide with Y-shaped connecting channel and detachable end device composed of insert and casing attached to respective end of carrier tapes. Casing has slot for receiving insert and protrusion located in mid portion of its upper part. Protrusion includes inlet end of said slot. Size of protrusion does not exceed size of straight portion of slide Y-shaped connecting channel. Insert is totally embedded into slot without gap. Insert and slot are made curved away from longitudinal axis of zipper fastener in arced line, whose radius is adequate to radius of side wall of Y-shaped connecting channel branched part, with central angle of 40-45 deg and equal sections over the entire length. Zipper fastener is used in clothing manufactured from light fabrics, as well as in changeable pieces of clothing, such as collars, cuffs etc, and provides for reliable engagement by eliminating the necessity of angular gap during passage of insert into protrusion slot, by restricting insert from deflection by transverse stretching force and, accordingly, preventing fastener engagement members from disconnection. Zipper fasteners may be made elastic and small-sized. EFFECT: simplified construction, increased fastening strength and wider range of clothings using such fasteners. 2 dwg
