FIELD: preparation of metal surface for subsequent cold deformation such as drawing or sizing. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for descaling surface of wire rod includes foundation in which housing with hollow semiaxles and rotation drive of housing are mounted. Guiding and bending rollers are mounted in housing. On semiaxle at side of metal outlet disc is mounted for supporting three gear boxes whose inlet shaft supports satellite- pinions engaging with sun gear with internal tooth fixed to foundation. Outlet shafts with needle milling cutters may roll around inlet shafts by means of screw-down mechanisms. Satellite-pinion of input shafts are in constant engagement with pinions of outlet shafts. EFFECT: increased useful life of needle cutters, significantly improved degree of metal descaling due to forcing needle cutters to wire rod, enhanced efficiency due to use of three needle cutters, lowered size of apparatus due to use of disc supporting gear boxes and single electric motor, possibility of mounting in line drawing benches for descaling rod. 2 cl, 7 dwg
