FIELD: acoustic protection of payload fairings of expendable launch vehicles. SUBSTANCE: inner sections of payload fairing are provided with acoustic absorbers tuned to definite frequency range. Absorbers are formed by cup-type lower portion and upper portion made in form of horn narrowing from larger diameter to lesser diameter over curvilinear taper surface. For scattering directional power flux, horn is provided with slots; slots are located in horn walls in area of lesser diameter. Acoustic absorbers are mounted on foamed plastic plates. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of protection of payload against noise generated by jet engine plants. 29 cl, 11 dwg
