FIELD: microbiology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cholera microbiology and can be used in immunological and genetic investigations as avirulent test-strain 0139 serovara no containing operon ctx of AB gene that determines synthesis of choleraic enterotoxin. Strain Vibrio cholerae 0139 serovara is isolated from the natural source, namely water of Ob river. Strain is hemolytic with respect to sheep erythrocytes, it has no virulence for rabbit-weanlings and does not produce choleraic enterotoxin since it has no operon ctx AB.
