NONWOVEN FIBROUS MATERIAL WITH UNATTACHED PARTS ARRANGED IN PREDETERMINED PATTERN AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE OF SUCH MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2149933 C1

FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: nonwoven material has unattached portions arranged in predetermined pattern, in which continuous attached portions define plurality of separate unattached portions. Material is fit for usage as fabric which may be fastened by "hook and loop" type fastening portions. Nonwoven material has fibrous cloth composed of separate threads or filaments. Volume density of nonwoven cloth is about 0.254 mm and surface density is about 20 g/sq.m. Fibrous cloth has continuous attached portions in its surface, which are arranged in accordance with predetermined pattern to define separate unattached portions, which are formed by applying heat or pressure to them. Area of attached portions of cloth is 25-50%. Separate threads or filaments in separate unattached portions partially project into continuous attached portions and are fixed in them. Method involves feeding cloth into space between rolls, with one of rolls having pattern on its surface and other roll having continuous surface; rotating rolls in opposite directions; fastening cloth by applying heat or pressure for forming pattern, with cloth fastening area covering 25-50%. Part of separate threads or filaments in separate portions projects into continuous attached parts and is fixed in them. This material is used for mechanical fastening system having male and female members which may be mutually connected and disconnected. Material may be embedded in disposable moisture absorbing article having layer which is in contact with user's body. EFFECT: wider range of usages, simplified manufacture method and construction, and improved quality of articles using such material. 21 cl, 6 dwg, 1 tbl, 19 ex
