METHOD OF ARRANGEMENT OF BLOWOUT PREVENTER EQUIPMENT UNDER OFFSHORE CONDITIONS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: gas-and-oil production and geological exploration; applicable in control of open oil and gas blowouts on offshore wells. SUBSTANCE: method of arrangement of blowout preventer equipment in control of open blowouts on offshore drilling objects with use of crane ship includes arrangement of assembly by pulling mechanism and its suspension above wellhead. Wave rolling is compensated by tackle block system which consists of two blocks with wire rope whose free ends are connected freely to hanging counterweights with rope ends passed through snatch rollers. The method provides for reduction of number of floating cranes for arrangement of blowout preventer equipment onto well mouth of blowing well under offshore conditions, use of free vertical space between hook of floating crane and well base flange for layout of equipment involved in arrangement operations.
