FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: technical objective of invention lies in increased accuracy of measurement of temperature of melt of substance independent of precision and presence of data on coefficient of thermal expansion of examined substance. Objective is achieved by formation of recess in melt surface which is model of " black body ", by submergence of refractory and transparent body through which thermal radiation is transmitted to meter into melt. Gear for implementation of process has light guide made of transparent and refractory material, radiation detector and optical line connecting light guide to radiation detector.
