FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of cutting helical grooves on outer cylindrical surface of porous sintered sleeve; winding onto it several layers of wire; impregnating assembly by liquid lubricant and pressing sleeve into housing of article; before pressing-in sleeve pressing holder on outer turns of wound wire at expanding edges of holder until formation of beads. Holder with beads prevents wire layers from separation and rupture. In combination with helical grooves it provides stable dimensions of bearing unit subjected to action of dynamic loads and allows to use it in important friction assemblies. Pressing of self-lubricating sliding bearing into housing is realized along outer surface of holder. It enhances accuracy of press-fitting in comparison with fitting along wire turns.
