FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes cutting of spiral grooves on external cylindrical surface of porous sintered bushing, winding of wire on bushing in several layers and winding of fabric impregnated with binding compound on external layers of wire. Then workpiece is hardened and ground to size for fit. Fabric impregnated with binding compound and wound on external turns of wire forms a holder after hardening for all layers of wire lying below. Method provides for protection of wire turns from destruction in process of press-fitting of self-lubricating plain bearing into housing, as well as in process of operation at dynamic loads.
