FIELD: shipbuilding; designing ships, fuel tanks in particular. SUBSTANCE: ship is provided with fuel tank which is adjacent to her hull; this tank has at least one fuel- tight partition located along ship's hull. Fuel-tight partition divides tank into separate compartments. One compartment adjoins hull and other compartment is located at some distance from hull. Each compartment is provided with piping systems which ensure independent filling of these compartments and supply of fuel to engine and/or to boiler plant. For discharge of fuel from one compartment or from two compartments located at some distance from hull, fuel shall be fully discharge from compartment or compartments which is adjacent to ship's hull.
