FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method may be used for formation of airtight ice-rock pillars in mine workings. The method includes formation of watertight bulkhead at working end, erection of stowing mass by layer located of stowage material cooled at day surface and dosed supply of water to layer surface. Novelty consists in that introduced into composition of stowage material is loosened artificial ice (firn) in volume corresponding to voids between lumps of stowage material. Freezing of mass is effected from layer surface with cold air whose flow along working is regulated by means of partition located at one of working sides and whose length is reduced as stowage mass is formed. Layer thickness is based on conditions of freezing at its base of water penetrating in the course of its supply to surface of stowage layer. EFFECT: reduced duration of freezing of artificial pillars with low materials, labor and power expenditures. 2 dwg
