FIELD: sporting equipment and shooting aids, applicable for aimed shooting by shortened arrows. SUBSTANCE: arbalest has a body-stock made in the form of a cylindrical shaft with a handle-butt, bow with a bow-string connecting the bow arms, drum- magazine installed coaxially for rotation about the axis that is common with the cylindrical shaft, trigger mechanism and a central bracket by means of which the bow is installed on the front end of the body-stock, as well as a device synchronizing the bow turn with the drum rotation. The central bracket is rotatable in the horizontal plane and installed on the front end of the shaft of the body-stock. The drum-magazine has chutes for placement of arrows. The synchronization unit is made as a ratchet-and-pawl mechanism installed on the front end of the shaft, kinematically linked with the central bracket, and a lock, and the front end face of the drum has openings mating the lock, whose number equals the number of chutes on the drum, and the spacing between which corresponds to the pitch of the ratchet- and-pawl mechanism. The latter is made in the form of a ratchet wheel, ratchet wheel pusher, thrust washer, and ratchet wheel tooth installed on the shaft front end, and a drum pressure spring installed on the rear end of the shaft-stock.
