FELLING-BUNCHER Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: felling-buncher has self-propelled chassis 1 with operator's cabin 2, hydraulic manipulator 3, gripper-cutter 5 mounted at hydraulic manipulator handle end for rotation in longitudinal-vertical plane of symmetry of manipulator. Gripper-cutter front part is advanced to tree adapted for felling. Gripper-cutter 5 has vertical column 6 with L-shaped stop 7, rotary gripping arms 9 and rotary holding arms 10, which are arranged in tiers. Cutting unit 11 is mounted in lower cantilevered part of column. Cutting unit 11 has body 12 with U-shaped slot 13 contoured with first vertical supporting member 14 having cantilevered side portions 15 and 16 arranged at both sides of longitudinal-vertical plane of symmetry 1-1 of column 6. Second vertical supporting L-shaped member 19 is mounted on column 6 above first vertical supporting member 14. Transverse portion and cantilevered side portion 20 of second vertical supporting member 19 are equally spaced from respective portions of first vertical supporting member 14. Cantilevered side portions 20 and 15 of supporting members 19 and 14 are positioned at the side adjacent to plane 1-1 opposed to rotary spindles 17,18 of arms 9 and 10 on column 6. Spindles 17 and 18 are arranged at side of plane 1-1 faced to operator's cabin 2. Such construction provides improved visibility of machine parts and units, as well as reliable retaining of felled trees in gripper-cutter 5.
