FIELD: logging industry. SUBSTANCE: cutter bar has disk with vertical rotating shaft. Equally spaced L-shaped slots are made in side surface of disk. Cutters with devices for attachment to disk are positioned in slots. One portion of slot is extending in radial direction with respect to rotating shaft. Each cutter has front cutting face 7, rear face 8, side faces 11 beveled one with respect to the other, backoff face 9 positioned opposite to front face and oriented to radial portion of L-shaped slot, and supporting face 10 opposed to rear face and oriented to other portion of slot. Space between side faces 11 exceeds thickness of disk. Surfaces of front cutting face 7, backoff face 9, each cutter and radial portion of each L-shaped slot are arranged in parallel one with the other. Rear face 8 of each cutter is made V-shaped, and opposed supporting face 10 has U-shaped recess. Attachment devices are positioned between the latter of mentioned faces and are radially extending with respect to rotating shaft of disk. Width of U-shaped recess is equal to thickness of disk. Such construction provides improved transverse cutting apart of wood fibers and reliable attachment of cutters to disk. EFFECT: increased efficiency and enhanced reliability in operation. 2 cl, 4 dwg
