Invention proposes to use the known agent, i. e. the Kuril Islands' bush tea as antidiabetic agent for treatment and prophylaxis of patients with diabetes mellitus by new prescription. Agent shows the expressed hypoglycaemic effect, protective effect on insular tissue of pancreas, antioxidant properties, favorable effect on lipid metabolism and functional state of liver and kidneys.
