FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: lube oil fraction raffinates are subjected to hydrogenation treatment at 300-330 C and pressure 3.0-4.0 MPa, raw material supply flow rate 1.0-1,5 hr-1, and hydrogen-containing gas circulating factor 800-1500 cu.m/cu.m. Deparaffination (with methyl ethyl ketone/toluene solvent) of hydrogenized raffinate gives basic component of dewaxed oil with viscosity index 90-98. Hydrogenation treatment is carried out in presence of catalyst containing, wt %: NiO 4.0- 6.0, MoO3 6.0-8.0, WO3 6.0-8.0, SiO2 4.6-14.0, and alumina - the balance. EFFECT: increased oil viscosity index. 1 tbl, 6 ex
