FIELD: surface treatment of material with binder coat; ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of film-forming solution from commercial lignin sulfonates, latex and water and application of this solution on pellets having temperature of from 120 to 220 C at specific consumption of film-forming solution per ton of pellets of 25 to 38 kg at the following relationship of above-mentioned components, mass-%: commercial lignin sulfonates, 2.5 to 3.5; latex, 1.5 to 2.5 and water remainder.
