FACE ARRANGEMENT TO ADJUST HOLE DISTORTION Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: drilling of inclined-and directed holes. SUBSTANCE: face arrangement has face motor of volumetric type predominantly that includes spindle with axial support, adjustment bushing and nipple. Drill bit is put on shaft of spindle and radial-thrust bearing is fixed near it. Restoring member pre-loaded with force F is placed in axial support of spindle. Decentering piece having at least one restoring strap with radial dimension equal to half-diameter of drill bit is tied with its ends to nipple and nonrotating part of radial-thrust bearing. In process of drilling intensity of distortion is provided thanks to creation of axial load P_ax on drill bit. If P_ax exceeds force F of stress of restoring member nipple draws to radial-thrust bearing deforming restoring strap of decentering piece which rests against wall of hole forming deviation load on drill bit. EFFECT: enhanced technological capabilities of face arrangement due to increased range of change of intensity of distortion. 3 cl, 2 dwg
