FIELD: astronomical instruments, in particular, devices for modulation of telescope observation field. SUBSTANCE: method involves production of two electromagnetic systems, which excite oscillations of mirror, oscillating circuit, which resonance frequency is equal to frequency of free oscillations of mechanical system of mirror. Electromagnetic circuit consists of capacitor, variable inductance coils, which inductance depends on position of mirror, and resistors, which are represented by resistance of inductance coils. Free oscillations of mechanical system of mirror are converted into electromagnetic power and dissipated over circuit resistance. EFFECT: possibility to drive oscillations of secondary telescope mirror with at least two stable states. 3 dwg
