FIELD: plastic metal working, namely,, technique for rolling shaped sections and bars of continuously cast ingot. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of realizing first pass with maximum reduction on wavy profiled barrel with relation of barrel wave depth to its width h/e=1:(6-8); performing second pass for smoothing waves on billet and eliminating wrinkles without tilting on smooth barrel; performing next reduction stages in box and shaped roll grooved passes in dependance upon section type. In order to provide uniform heating and eliminate spontaneous rolling upon flat hearth of furnace, round billets are placed in one row with alternation of rectangular and round ones. Spacing between different-profile billets is no less than half of circle diameter. Different-profile billets are rolled successively one after another. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process for rolling round continuously cast billet due to stability of round billet and elimination of its twisting and shifting. 3 tbl, 3 ex
