FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of isolation of trifluoroacetic acid from aqueous solutions which comprises extraction. Saturated monobasic C7-C9 fatty acids are added to aqueous trifluoroacetic acid solution till two phases, namely aqueous phase of raffinate and fatty acid phase of extract are completely separated followed by isolation of the desired component by distillation and rectification. The claimed method produces little waste and makes it possible to isolate trifluoroacetic acid from aqueous solutions of various concentrations resulting from preparation of trifluoroacetic acid ore use thereof, presence of inorganic acids in solutions producing no negative effect on process of isolation of trifluoroacetic acid. EFFECT: more efficient isolation method. 3 cl, 4 ex, 5 tbl
