FIELD: glass production, in particular, thermal strengthening of glass. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating glass to initial hardening temperature To; providing forced cooling of glass by pulsed air-jet blowing for time not exceeding 3 s; allowing glass to cool to room temperature under conditions of natural convection of air flows. Method may be used instead of glass annealing process and allows high-strength glass to be produced. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved strength of glass which overcomes machining process without breaking. 1 dwg
