FIELD: rare metals technology. SUBSTANCE: osmium is isolated from chromium-containing raw material is accomplished by sorption with alkali-earth metal hydroxide at ratio of the latter to osmium from 20:1 to 100:1. Such procedure allows complete recovery of osmium from chromate solutions containing 0.1 to 1 g/l of osmium.
