FIELD: thermal engineering. SUBSTANCE: radiant burner designed for use in various heat-and-power generating plants, domestic and utility gas stoves, heaters, dryers, and furnaces has body, injector in the form of gas nozzle with mixing tube, perforated radiant ceramic checker, and radiation shield; the latter is built up of set of long members such as strips, cylinders made of quartz or ceramics forming cellular holes with their transverse size at least 10 mm and height not smaller than transverse size of cells whose relative total flow section is more than 0.8; shield is spaced from checker surface through distance not greater than transverse size of cells and not over one third of transverse size of checker which ensures desired completeness of fuel combustion and noticeable reduction in CO content in combustion products, improved burning stability within comprehensive range of fuel pressure variation, improved radiant efficiency and radiation directivity pattern. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities of burner. 1 dwg
