PROCESS DETERMINING DAMPING PROPERTIES OF SHOCK ABSORBERS FROM COMPOSITE MATERIALS UNDER IMPACTS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: impact tests of shock absorbers. SUBSTANCE: invention can be recommended for design of impact- protecting devices from composite materials. Tests of shock absorbers are conducted on stand whose quality factor is at least order of magnitude greater than that of shock absorber. Desired-for coefficient of efficiency of impact suppression is sought for as product of coefficients tied up with various physical properties of shock absorber. In this case replacement of damping inserts by inserts from various materials with predetermined damping properties makes it feasible to determine each coefficient as result of analysis of impact spectra obtained under impact test. Invention is meant to obtain characteristics of shock absorbers demonstrating their functional efficiency under impacts ( coefficients of effective impact damping of shock absorbers related to structural damping, damping in materials, various acoustic stiffness of various members of shock absorber and so on ). EFFECT: enhanced quality of study of process of work of shock absorbers under impacts. 6 dwg
