FIELD: fiber-optical systems for transmission of optical signals. SUBSTANCE: method involves drilling blind central hole on both sides of connector for storing light guide with jacket, drilling through service hole and mounting collet grip at its ends. Then, method involves cutting slot and, in its center, capillary hole for holding stripped light guide ends by means of electrical- discharge machine using wire electrode inserted into service hole in direction towards center. Slot width is less than diameter of this hole. This results in possibility to achieve optical losses of 0.1-0.15 dB in detachable single-mode optical connector. One embodiment provides possibility to produce connector with smooth alteration of capillary hole size in wide range in order to adjust to new diameter rapidly. EFFECT: increased field of application, decreased cost for production of fiber-optical light guides due to increased tolerance range for their diameters, decreased tension in quartz light guides caused by significant environment temperature drops due to temperature compensators. 8 cl, 14 dwg
