FIELD: thermonuclear units. SUBSTANCE: proton and ionized-boron beams are injected in confining magnetic field within reactor at definite speeds. Ionized boron and proton function as nuclear reagents in system using configuration of reversed field and are subjected to fusion so as to produce three alpha-particles whose kinetic energy is converted into useful energy. Boron and proton beams are passed from respective injectors to reaction chamber so as to ensure relative energy of 0.65 MeV corresponding to resonance minimum in effective section of reaction. Energy of boron beam is 0.412 MeV and that of proton beam is 1 MeV. Novelty is that beams tend to circulate within device unidirectionally thereby making it possible to avoid fast change of mean speeds of beams due to ion-ion scattering. Ions remain confined for relatively long time which enhances collision in nuclear fusion. Energy of both ion beams should not be over 100 keV as it will impair resonance in effective section. In the process ions are brought to adequate energy level and density by means of inlet device beyond magnetic confinement device. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 31 cl, 9 dwg
