FIELD: separating equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves conveying charged particles on conveyor belts in direction transverse to direction of electric field; generating electric field by means of electrodes of opposite polarity, with particles carrying belt interposed and movable between electrodes; shaking particles and forming high-turbulence zone and providing increased transverse force acting between electrodes, with intensity of this force being sufficient to provide contact between particles and electrostatic charging of belt and particles. Conveyor belt is molded from material containing basic polymer and additive, which are selected so that belt extruded from this material possesses at least one characteristic imparting wear-resistance and creep-resistance to belt and allowing it to be charged. Apparatus has conveyor belt adapted for transporting charged particles in direction transverse to direction of electric field. In the process of particle contact charging, belt is exposed to friction force and acquires tension during operation. EFFECT: improved separation of components of material subjected to separation process, reduced production costs and enhanced reliability in operation. 33 cl, 1 dwg
