FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to moulded thermoplastic resin-based articles reinforced by long fibres to be used for producing various articles. Moulding comprises applying compound on glass-containing substrate and removing, at least, a portion water. Said compound comprises water dispersion containing (a) non-polar thermoplastic resin, for example, polyolefin with deformation temperature below 110°C, (b) polar dispersion stabiliser and (c) water. Note here that said compound serves to modify the substrate to make it mouldable. Article consists of glass, about 92% by wt relative to total weight of substrate, resin and dispersion stabiliser. Invention covers also glass-base coated fibre that includes compound with part of fibre. Note also that said fibre features diametre of 5-35 mcm while compound coat layer thickness makes 0.1-10 mcm. Invention covers also article moulded of coated fibre and method of applying glass-based coat on fibre.

EFFECT: fibres with improved stiffness, elasticity, flexibility, adhesion, shape stability or compatibility.
