FIELD: rowing boats; construction of oars. SUBSTANCE: oar has shank with blade; handle and oarlock are fixed on shank. Blade is made in form of two longitudinal strips secured on handle at one end; blade is mounted between these strips at other end; blade is rigidly secured at ends of longitudinal strips forming adjustable arm by means of two cover plates. Each cover plate is made in form of embracing jaws with lugs whose holes receive trunnions of oarlock body for turning through angle of 360 deg. EFFECT: extended functional capabilities of oar; enhanced efficiency. 3 dwg
