FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, namely, to equipment for ensuring movement of watercraft by means of muscular force. The oar comprises a web with a handle at the top, hinged to the blade. The axis of the hinge is oriented perpendicular to the web and parallel to the blade plane. The hinge is made locking, configured for the angle between the web and the non-working surface of the blade to be changed from 90 to 180 degrees. The oar is additionally equipped with an element with positive buoyancy, located either in the lower part of the web or at the top of the blade.
EFFECT: possibility of changing the shape of the design and adjusting the oar, as well as simplification of the rowing technique.
