FIELD: highway engineering, applicable in construction or reconstruction of road junctions at different grades of trunk highways in the conditions of narrow urban building. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in construction of an underground closed section and open ones adjoining it. The novelty is in the fact that the tunnel is made in length with two sections curvilinear in plan, facing the opposite sides with the convex part, and formation of the middle rectilinear section located between them, and rectilinear terminal sections, the angle between the axis of one rectilinear terminal section and the axis of the middle rectilinear section is taken to be equal to 39 to 47 deg. , and the angle between the axis of the other rectilinear terminal section and the axis of the middle rectilinear section - 23 to 31 deg.; tunnel sections with a summary length making up 0.630 to 0.640 and 0.36 to 0.37 of the tunnel overall length are made by the closed and open methods respectively. EFFECT: reduced labour and material costs and scope of excavation at simultaneous provision of high traffic capacity and road safety, prevented jammings on motor roads, deformations of surface structures and improved ecology. 18 cl, 12 dwg
